Pray for safe travel as the team leaves this afternoon!
They have arrived safely in Panama City, Panama.
One more flight!
Everyone did amazing with the travel. A few from the team did 3.5 miles of walking during their layover to get an amazing cookie.
They left Panama about 11:00pm NC time.

Day on the River
After arriving in Manaus, Brazil around 3:00am, the team took an hour and a half bus ride to Manacapuru. Traveling by bus to Manacapuru saves several hours of travel on the river. They are now on the boat headed to the village.
A little after lunch, they arrived to New Hope, the village they visited back in March 2025 and August 2024. The people were very excited to see old friends and meet new ones as well. A few tears may have been shed. Their first service will be tomorrow. Tonight, they need some rest!

First Full Day in the Village
This morning’s gathering in the village was smaller than usual—most of the community was out working hard to clear a path to the fields in preparation for harvesting tomorrow. Hopefully, some of our team members can join in to lend a hand! Pastor Will taught those that attended how to read and study the Bible. Because of the smaller crowd, we didn’t have a full service, but it turned into a great opportunity to focus on equipping those who were present. Pastor Will also introduced the idea of baptism to them.
It's rained most of the afternoon which has given the team a little more time to rest up for the week.
They had a great service last night and Abby did a great job sharing her testimony. After they got back to the boat, they may have held some wildlife..

Second Full Day in the Village
The teams have been split up and are heading out into the village. One group hopes to help harvest manioc (cassava or yuca as we may call it) today. This plant is a major income producer for the village.
From Aleesha: Our group visited Pao Seco. They were mostly together making flour when we arrived. Val Diza showed us where the cassava is growing and then she took us around to show us the food she's growing.
We sat on the porch and the girls colored while we talked. She is a teacher so she had to get ready for work.
We left her parent's house and then we went back to where the guys were working. Kevin immediately jumped in to help. I asked him and Derek to take lead on trying to connect with the men. They taught them both quite a bit, and tomorrow they will get the opportunity to flip the flour on the long cooker.
They had a service in the evening and saw many people attend from other villages. They are seeing much more attendance from the surrounding villages compared to the past 2 trips.
Pray for perseverance for the team. It is hard minister all day and then do services every evening as well.

Third Full Day in the Village
Be in prayer for the teams serving this morning!
Teams helped process the manioc (cassava) in both villages. Some helped peel, and others helped cook it. Manioc is poisonous if it is not peeled or cooked properly. It's a lot of work, but the people are able to sell it to make some money. They were grateful for the help.
Tonight, Aleesha gave her testimony and Kevin preached at the service.

Saying Goodbye
Be in prayer for the teams! The team will have one final service in the village around 3:00pm and then pull out around 4:30pm. It will be a difficult goodbye for many of them and the village.
I've had the privilege of speaking to a few of the Brazilian ladies from the village through social media, and they have grown so much this week. They hunger for the Word of God and have been so grateful for the evening services and times with the team. One sweet lady described the team as part of her family in Christ. She is so sad for them to go. Be in prayer for her spiritual growth and the growth of the believers in this part of the river. The Lord is at work there!

Day in Manaus
The team arrived in Manaus early this morning. They spent some time shopping in the grocery store and in the outdoor market before heading to the hotel. They'll have a nice dinner tonight before going back to the hotel for a late nap. Their flight leaves at 3:40am tomorrow morning. They'll layover in Panama before arriving to Raleigh around 2:30pm.
Be in prayer for smooth and on time flights. I know they are ready to be home and see their family and friends.
