Our team is on mission in Brazil!  Join us in praying for them as they share the Gospel, build deep connections, and show the love of the Lord!

Tuesday, August 6: Lots of layovers and travel today. Thankfully no major delays with the weather. 

Wednesday, August 7:  After nearly 24 hours of travel, the team arrived safely to the boat. They spent the day traveling up river en route to a remote village. It was a beautiful, restful day for all! Brenda shares here. 

Thursday, August 8: A quick update from Brenda can be found here, and the worship time this morning. The team arrived in the village early this morning and began ministering and sharing the Gospel. Four people have gotten saved so far! They had a service tonight in the village. Pray as they make decisions on how long to stay at this village and if/when they should go to the next village. Pray also for Dana as she has twisted her ankle. 

Friday, August 9: Update from Brenda. Pastor Will says: Today our teams went back to houses that they got permission to go teach in. Our kids team had a great turn out as they taught about Noah and the Ark with their coloring pages. As a team, we got watch our village’s soccer team win the semi-finals, and tomorrow we will watch them in the championship. We were able to pray and share with both teams before the match. Prayer Requests: we may go check out another village. Pray for Pastor Eli as he is tired. Pray for Dana’s ankle. Pray that the team rests well and stays strong.

Saturday, August 10:  Brenda's update. They arrived in the second village today. It is larger and seems more open to their arrival. Tomorrow is Father's Day in Brazil, and they have been invited to celebrate with the villagers. Brenda shared her testimony tonight and Jerome preached at the service. Pray for the ministry here. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. 

Sunday, August 11: Happy Father's Day! The team was able to celebrate the special day with a large lunch with the villagers. Pray for tonights service. Pastor Will is sharing. The team is really connecting well with this village. It is larger, but the people are more inviting and open to our team. Pray for the team to get rest. They will have a later start tomorrow to allow them a little rest. Update from Brenda. 

Monday, August 12: Brenda's update. Today has been such a great day. The team continues to connect well with the Brazilians. Lots of great conversations in the homes and clearing up some religious confusion many have. The team has really done a great job connecting with the people and building relationships. The hope is to send other teams from our churches here to continue evangelizing and discipling them. They are eager to learn more. Pray for the team. As much as they are loving and enjoying their time, it is hot, much hotter than forecasted, and they are tired. Pray for rest and perseverance.  

Tuesday, August 13: Today is the last full day in the village! Update from Brenda From Pastor Will: Today was a great day. We got to teach the word in people’s houses and had a great time doing kid’s ministry. The team got a break this afternoon as they got swim in the Amazon and take a boat ride if they wanted. A few fish were caught today before breakfast. Our service tonight was great as Dana McComb gave her testimony and pastor Billy Rave from Wilson’s Mills Baptist Church preached. Please keep praying for this village, Nova Esperanza. Pray that they continue in the word and in prayer. Pray that God would start to build the next team for the next trip.

Wednesday, August 14: From Brenda. Prayers for their last day in Nova Esperanza. The village would like for us to come back, but they have doubts that we will. The team left the vlllage a little before 11am this morning. Pray for safe travels back. They should arrive in Manaus tomorrow morning. 

Thursday, August 15: The team spent the day in Manaus shopping, eating, SHOWERING, and resting. Pray for a restful couple hours as they need to head to the airport around 1am. Please keep their travels in your prayers. Pray for a smooth trip with periods of rest and no delays!

Thank you everyone for praying for this team. Pray that the Gospel will continue to spread along the Amazon River and that disciples will grow strong and solid in their faith. Pray for future teams to rise out of the churches represented on this trip. May we all continue to spread the Gospel until the Lord returns.
